The Assistant Director of Admissions assists with all aspects of the admissions processes. In addition to reviewing and rendering decisions on applications, this position also requires representing the law school at recruitment fairs, forums, and panels, counseling students regarding the admissions process, and developing and implementing strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective students. This position also works on building new recruitment initiatives, including with respect to students from historically underrepresented backgrounds. This position requires occasional evening and weekend event responsibilities and seasonal recruiting travel. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Assist in the review and rendering of decisions for approximately 12,000 applications received annually, conducting applicant interviews virtually or in person.

Represent Georgetown at recruitment fairs, law forums, and panels (both virtual and in-person), presenting at on-campus and virtual information sessions.

Work with Director and Dean of Admissions to develop and implement strategies for recruiting, including historically underrepresented students.

Counsel prospective and admitted students on the law school admissions process.

Assist with the publication of print and online marketing materials, website, email, and social media outreach and marketing.

Manage other projects to be assigned at the discretion of the Dean of Admissions, Director of Admissions, and Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions.


Work Interactions
This position works on all aspects of the admissions process, including reviewing applications, conducting applicant interviews, planning and carrying out recruiting events (online and in-person), marketing and outreach to applicants, and assisting the Dean of Admissions, Assistant Dean of Graduate Admissions, and Director of Admissions with other projects as assigned. The position is full-time, hybrid.

Requirements and Qualifications

J.D. or graduate degree

1-3 years experience in areas such as admissions, counseling, recruiting and/or higher education administration preferred

An ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and to work with a wide range of people including applicants, alumni, faculty, staff and students

Familiarity with Microsoft, especially Excel

Experience with student information systems or similar databases is preferred, as is working knowledge of web development technologies and emerging social media

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$47,586.00 - $87,558.13

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
