Assistant Director of Engineering

The Assistant Director of Engineering will support the Director of Engineering in overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all hotel systems and infrastructure. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong technical background and leadership skills, ensuring that all engineering services meet the highest standards of quality and safety, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring smooth maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other hotel systems.Supervise and train the engineering team, ensuring they provide excellent service and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.Ensure all preventive maintenance programs are effectively implemented and up to date.Support the Director of Engineering in budgeting, cost control, and resource management.Conduct regular inspections of the hotel’s facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure that engineering-related projects and requests are handled promptly and professionally.Oversee the maintenance of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.Manage vendor relationships and coordinate external contractors for specialized maintenance or repair services.Respond to emergency maintenance issues and manage repairs with minimal impact on guest experience.Assist with energy conservation programs and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
