The purpose of this classification is to oversee and supervise the utilization and repair of Greenville Water facilities. This classification provides direction and manages all work efforts for maintaining facilities and the acquisition of facilities furniture and equipment, and special project administration. \n

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\n
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.\n\nDirects and oversees the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs, maintenance and regulatory compliance, maintenance planning and warehousing operations; approves maintenance program and asset replacement recommendations. \nDirects response to and recovery of service during emergencies, as well as planned and unplanned operation stoppages. \nIntegrates new work practices, technology and systems to enhance productivity; periodically reviews and evaluates required inspection and maintenance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory operation permits, rules and regulations. \nDirects the inspection and approval of the work of contractors and crews for completeness, accuracy and regulatory compliance; inspects jobs and facilities to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and that conditions are safe. \nPlans, organizes and conducts program analyses relating to maintenance programs; identifies problems, determines analytical techniques and statistical and information-gathering processes, and obtains necessary information and data for analysis; analyzes alternatives and makes recommendations; prepares reports of study conclusions; discusses findings with senior management and subordinates. \nDevelops implementation plans and directs implementation; writes reports, recommended policy change documents and presentation materials for management. \nPlans, organizes, controls, integrates, implements and monitors work plans processes, systems and procedures to achieve goals and objectives for the department. \nContributes to the development of and monitors performance against the annual department budget. \nProvides day-to-day leadership and works with staff to ensure a high-performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving the department's mission, objectives and values regarding teamwork, mutual trust and respect; applies process improvement and quality management principles to assigned areas of responsibility. \nInterviews and selects new staff; establishes personal development targets; regularly monitors performance and provides coaching for development and performance improvement as needed. \nAttends and participates in industry conferences and meetings; stays current on maintenance practices, tools, technology and regulatory environments; reviews changes in regulations to evaluate the impact of proposed changes on current maintenance operations and the department's bottom line. \nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: \n
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from an institution accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency. \n
Six (6) years' of progressive experience in Facility Management, and\/or construction and facilities maintenance of public or private facilities including budget and administrative experience and a minimum of three (3) years' supervising personnel.\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: \n
Certified Facility Management Professional.
