Assistant Director of Finance

What will I be doing?

\n

As Assistant Director of Finance, you will be recognized as a trusted advisor, partnering with leadership to maximize profitability and deliver exceptional value to our shareholders and owners.

\n

This role is central to supporting our finance lead in attracting and retaining top finance talent, developing a thriving team, and fostering a robust culture of control and compliance. You will communicate with impact, champion EMEA Operations Finance innovations, and execute projects to shape an efficient, industry-leading finance organization.

\n

Specifically your responsibilities will include:

\n

1)      Reporting

\n

·         Prepare month-end analysis, identify areas for improvement, and follow up on action items.

\n

·         Ensure accurate balance sheet reflection and complete timely reconciliations.

\n

·         Provide reliable financial data to support operational decision-making.

\n

·         Prepare reporting for Owner, provide ad-hoc comments on performance, and ensure timely payments.

\n

·         Lead Monthly and Weekly Forecasts, ensuring accuracy and deadlines.

\n

·         Prepare Management Team Meeting presentation and comments.

\n

·         Prepare annual Operating and CapEx Budget.

\n

 

\n

2)      Financial Analysis and Commercial Awareness

\n

·         Prepare financial analysis for GM and Executive team to improve profitability.

\n

·         Chair P&L meetings with department heads and hotel manager.

\n

·         Attend daily and monthly management meetings.

\n

·         Cooperate fully during internal and external audits, providing details and commentary.

\n

·         Develop and review financial accounting and control best practices for efficiency.

\n

·         Assist department heads in improving financial awareness and provide relevant data.

\n

·         Support department heads in maximizing performance on the Finance Balanced Scorecard.

\n

 

\n

3)      Accounting

\n

·         Process and approve Purchase Orders, Expense Claims, and advances.

\n

·         Approve Accounts Payable invoices and Income Audit documents.

\n

·         Review payment runs and supporting documents.

\n

·         Process Affiliated Statements and Fees payments.

\n

·         Calculate incentives and bonus accruals.

\n

·         Approve Capital Expenditure projects.

\n

·         Manage month-end process and bookings for accurate results.

\n

·         Perform monthly payroll audits with HR for Cluster team.

\n

·         Ensure compliance with corporate and local reporting requirements with Chief Clerk and Owner's Accountant.

\n

 

\n

4)      People Management

\n

·         Supervise team members and assist with daily tasks and issues.

\n

·         Organize and chair departmental communication meetings.

\n

·         Manage vacation scheduling for team members.

\n

·         Conduct bi-annual 1:1 meetings and personal development reviews, and provide training for the accounting team.

What are we looking for?

\n

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

\n

·         3+ years relevant and progressive work experience in Accounting or Finance

\n

·         Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or related business discipline from an academic institution

\n

·         Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts, and projections

\n

·         Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate

\n

·         Ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems

\n

·         Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities

\n

·         Detail orientation and organizational skills

\n

·         Ability to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company, hotels & owners

\n

·         Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)

\n

·         Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs

\n
