The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration and has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining). Hotel Website, Instagram, Facebook Overview As an Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, you would be responsible for assisting the Director of Food and Beverage in leading and managing the food and beverage outlets and assisting with banquets as needed. This role will take on projects for the department, work closely with the Director of Restaurants and Bars, and oversee Restaurant Sales with the Restaurant Sales Manager reporting directly to them. You will also oversee food and beverage budgets and controls, and administer food and beverage marketing programs. This includes, but is not limited to, the following duties: Hire, train, supervise and schedule food and beverage staff / management in accordance with business needs, productivity, service standards and Hilton Hotels policies and procedures. Develop menus and food and beverage marketing strategies; implement new menus and promotions, such as holiday and special event promotions. Observe food and beverage outlet operations and take needed action to ensure all standards are being met. Taste test food and beverage products for consistency. Respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements and requests in food and beverage outlets. Assist outlet managers in coordinating services from other departments, i.e.: maintaining adequate stock of linen. Utilize computer equipment to analyze forecast, cost, and revenue reports and make decisions based on that information to ensure profit maximization. Main point of contact for external F&B systems – Seven Room, Agilisys, Resort Pass, Freedom Pay Guide the development of hotel beverage programs Prepare capital projects across the food & beverage division. Support the banquet department during high volume need periods. Participate in operational walks for both outlets and banquets. Shop competitive hotels and restaurant operations to keep abreast of marketing techniques and promotions. Perform duties of outlet managers when necessary to ensure property management coverage is maintained. Perform duties of line employees as needed under high volume and emergency situations. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage. Qualifications At least two (5) years’ experience in food and beverage management Multi-outlet management experience Experience in a high-volume, fast-pace operation Activation experience Experience and knowledge of the restaurant sales side Luxury hotel / resort experience, preferred Forbes experience, preferred Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field, preferred Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods. Good project manager – enjoys assessing, evaluating, and sourcing solutions Very organized Self-motivated Take initiative Ability to work well with a variety of stakeholders Negotiation skills
