Position Title: Assistant Director (FSL), Student Engagement

Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Assistant Director is responsible for daily leadership, management, and direction of Bradley University’s fraternity and sorority community. Serving about 1000 students, the fraternity and sorority community comprises about 25% of Bradley’s student population. There are 14 chapters representing the Interfraternity Council (13 housed), 3 members of the newly formed Multicultural Greek Council, 7 active chapters within the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and 6 members of the Panhellenic Council (6 housed). The Assistant Director will display and enhance the commitment to creating a welcoming, caring, diverse, and inclusive fraternity and sorority community in alignment with Bradley University’s vision and strategic imperatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Advise a robust fraternity and sorority community which supports the mission and vision of the university and the ideals of the inter/national Greek organizations.Advise all or a combination of the four governing councils consisting of Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Council and Interfraternity Council.Advise fraternity and sorority campus wide initiatives such as new student move-in, recruitment and intake, programming, etc.Provide, design, implement, and collaborate on programs such as officer training, membership development, risk reduction, hazing prevention, conflict resolution, organizational behavior and change, etc.Communicate with chapter advisors, housing corporations, regional volunteers, and inter/national offices.Collaborate across campus with areas such as residential living, facilities, campus police, etc. and within the community, such as, the City of Peoria.Serve as an investigator and/or adjudicator for related student and organizational conduct concerns in collaboration with the offices of Student Conduct and Student Engagement.Oversee social event registration processes.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks with overlapping timelines/deadlines.Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, planning, problem-solving, time management and oral and written communication skills.Ability to multitask, prioritize workload and meet deadlines while keeping a flexible approach to the workplace.Successful candidates will possess the ability to communicate and work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds, possess strong leadership characteristics, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to problem solve.Must have a valid US driver’s licensePreferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher education or related advance degree.Previous experience in higher education working with and advising multiple and diverse fraternity and sorority organizations is preferred.Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter that addresses the qualifications of the position, resume, and complete contact information for three professional references.
