The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director of Grant Development & Educational Innovation. The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences is home to WKU's nationally recognized clinical preparation programs. These programs focus on our community's future teachers, counselors, psychologists, and leaders.
The Assistant Director of Grant Development & Educational Innovation will support the faculty and staff in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, to write, review and edit competitive grant proposals in pursuit of funding from foundations, government agencies, and professional organizations. The Assistant Director of Grant Development & Educational Innovation will seek funding from a variety of sources, including but not limited to community foundation grants, personnel preparation grants, and research grants.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Conducts the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage external grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, professional organizations, or other funding sources
+ Works with faculty to identify funding opportunities that align with faculty research interests and strengths
+ Provides guidelines for and assistance to prospective funding applicants
+ Develops budgets in coordination with principal investigators and the WKU Office of Sponsored Programs
+ Ensures that applications meet agency requirements, university guidelines, and published time tables/deadlines
+ Drafts letters of support or commitment
+ Works with subcontracting organizations, school districts, etc. to secure necessary documents
+ Formats all components to create a cohesive proposal
+ Collects approval signatures
+ Serves as liaison with the Office of Sponsored Programs to make needed corrections to applications and to ensure successful submission to the funding agency
+ Communicates with collaborators regarding needed documents such as biographical sketches, conflict of interest forms, and current and pending research support forms
+ Follows local, state and federal guidelines to respect the legality and confidentiality of grants
This position is temporary, annually renewable position.
Job Requirements:
+ Master's degree or equivalent (e.g., Ed.S.)
+ Minimum of three years of grant writing experience
Additional Information:
Salary: $85,000
