Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Marketing, Partnerships and Experiences will be responsible for developing and executing strategic partnerships, supporting media relations, creating engaging guest activations, and curating unique experiences that enhance Waldorf Astoria New York’s brand and drive revenue growth. This role requires a creative thinker and strategic communicator with a passion for hospitality and a strong network in the media industry. Success measures include increasing topline revenue and achieving channel/market share objectives.
\nAs an Assistant Director of Marketing, Partnerships and Experiences this position requires regular interaction with the hotel’s Director of Marketing, Executive Director of Sales, and Managing Director
\n\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\n· Strategic Partnership Development:
\no Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with brands, influencers, and local businesses to enhance guest experiences and drive brand awareness ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.
\no Negotiate and manage partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefits and successful collaboration.
\no Develop and execute co-branded marketing campaigns and activations.
\n· Media Relations:
\no Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media outlets.
\no Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
\no Coordinate and manage press conferences, media tours, social media and other PR events.
\n· Guest Activations:
\no Design and implement innovative guest activations that create memorable experiences and increase guest engagement.
\no Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of activations and events.
\no Monitor and analyze the performance of activations, using insights to improve future initiatives.
\n· Experience Curation:
\no Develop go-to-market strategies and drive sales through new activations and promotional initiatives.
\no Curate unique and exclusive experiences for guests, leveraging local culture, events, and trends.
\no Work with the marketing team to promote these experiences through various channels.
\no Continuously seek out new opportunities to enhance the guest experience.
\n· Event Management:
\no Plan and execute PR events, including product launches, media tours and press trips.
\no Oversee the marketing calendar from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams and seamless implementation.
\no Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful event execution.
\nSupporting Responsibilities:
\n\nCollaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop and refine short- and long-term promotional and activation strategies, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.\nOversee the development and management of the Activation Calendar.\nAnalyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscapes to drive marketing activations and decision-making.\nPartner with the hotel teams to create and optimize the innovation pipeline, assessing product performance and making data-driven recommendations.\nOversee cross-functional collaborations, ensuring smooth commercialization of initiatives involving hotel teams\n\nREQUIREMENTS:
\n\nBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field.\nMinimum of 8 years of experience in marketing, with a strong preference for candidates with activation/promotional/ public relations experience.\nStrategic thinking, analytical abilities, and creative problem-solving skills.\nData-driven decision-making and a growth-oriented mindset.\nStrong understanding of commercialization processes and guest execution.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint.\nEffective cross-functional collaboration skills with a focus on achieving business objectives.\nGenuine enthusiasm for exceptional customer experiences.\nProven ability to work as a team player with cross-functional experience in either hospitality or agency environment.\n\nThe annual salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000 and it's based on applicable and specialized experience.
