Assistant Director of Sports Performance

Position Title:  Assistant Director of Sports Performance

Department:    Intercollegiate Athletics

Reports to:       Director of Sports Performance

Appointment:  Full-Time (12 months) 

Status:              Exempt

Purpose of Position: Direct and supervise sports performance programs for Bradley Athletics’ student athletes.  This position reports directly to the Director of Sports Performance

Responsibilities:   

Daily weight room coverage, practice coverage, and home/away game coverage for student athletes as assigned.Communication with sport performance, sports medicine staff and athletic coaches in regard to performance and limitations presented in workouts.Design and implement workouts using best practices.Document / track all workouts progressionsPerform duties as related to serving administrative function as assigned by the Director of Sports PerformancePerform Daily, weekly and monthly operating functions to assure safety, cleanliness and equipment longevityAssist with the inventory and ordering of suppliesResearch latest equipment and/or programming trends and present findingsAssist in maintaining the fueling station and the athletics department’s nutrition programming  Develop, Market and execute internship and/or work study programAssist with seasonal weight room schedule by assessing schedules and working with necessary academic or sport coachesAttended weekly or monthly team or support staff meetingsMaintain appropriate certifications for as defined by the NCAA.Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, Deputy Athletics Director, or Director of Sports Performance

A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred. One to three years of strength and conditioning experience in a collegiate environment is also preferred. The successful candidate must possess significant expertise within the collegiate strength and conditioning field; excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; the ability to motivate student-athletes and work cooperatively with coaches and the sport medicine staff; a commitment to excellence and value of education; familiarity and comfort working in an environment with a strong academic commitment; and sensitivity to cultural differences. Proficiency with computer applications, general office
software and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required. Certification by CSCS, USAW and/or CSCCa is necessary. CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.
