Assistant Director of Student Engagement - McCourt School of Public Policy

The Assistant Director of Student Engagement is responsible for the enhancement and management of the support structure for all student organizations (20+) at McCourt. The Assistant Director of Student Engagement works with all aspects of the student organization life cycle from inception to potential dissolution, and provides leadership development opportunities for student organization leaders. The Assistant Director also assists the McCourt team with community-wide events and programming, ranging from commencement exercises to the Georgetown Public Policy Challenge. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

Advise all McCourt School student organizations (20+) and student leaders, inclusive of program and event content development.

Coordinate new student organizations' development, policies, and approval processes.

Advise, oversee, and manage finances/budgets for all McCourt School’s student organizations.

Support the Director of Student Engagement with implementation of student onboarding and coordination of commencement ceremonies.

Serve as an advisor for the Georgetown Public Policy Challenge.

Work Interactions

The Assistant Director of Student Engagement reports to the Director of Student Engagement. The Assistant Director engages with the Dean and other members of the McCourt School Leadership Team, Receivables Management and Payment Systems, Office of International Safety, Student Health Insurance Office, and the Office of Graduate Enrichment in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences when supporting McCourt student organizations. The Assistant Director supervises a Graduate Assistant.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred

2-3 years of relevant experience; 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred

Previous experience working in higher education and coordinating large-scale, concurrent events preferred

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
