The Office of Development and Alumni/ae Affairs (ODAA)invites applications for a full-time, exempt Assistant Director of the Bard College Fund (BCF). The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of the Bard College Fund to support the efforts of the office through planning, organizing, and implementing specific aspects of a multifaceted, fast-paced annual fund office, with the goal of increasing participation and gift size from alumni/ae, parents/families, and friends of the College. The successful candidate will excel at working in a community that is broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation and religion.
Responsibilities include assessing the current and previous year’s campaigns, executing the production of direct mail, email, and social media appeals as well as special targeted appeals; monitoring progress towards annual campaign goals for the BCF; and implementing the annual appeals to a varied constituency. The Assistant Director reports to the Sr. Director of Development and works closely with the Office of Alumni/ae Affairs, Office of Development, staff and others as needed. Ability to work some nights and weekends and local travel required.

Job duties include:
+ Organize, direct, and manage a schedule of solicitations to effectively increase participation and funds raised from alumni/ae, families and friends
+ Assist with production of marketing pieces, text messaging campaigns, direct mail and email appeals in an effort to increase participation and funds raised
+ Strong analytical abilities and proficiency with Excel and other software to generate lists and analyze data
+ Experience in video editing, Instagram, Google Tools, Facebook, and Slate or other CRM
+ Ability to articulate Bard’s mission to prospective donors in person, in print, and in social media formats
+ Attend college-wide events on and off campus representing the ODAA
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ B.A., B.S., BFA required
+ Successful fundraising, development, and/or marketing experience
+ Experience in a higher education environment preferred
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets
+ Excellent writing skills and keen attention to detail
+ Strong Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and V-lookup, as well as Word and PowerPoint required
+ Knowledge of Slate or another CRM is preferred
+ Ability to work effectively with diverse audiences with a customer-service focus
+ Ability to undertake multiple priorities concurrently, and independently prioritize to meet due dates
+ Familiarity with social media platforms and video/photo editing a plus
+ All candidates should show a commitment to the College’s mission, vision, and values
Physical Demands:
+ Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work in a standard office environment
+ Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds
+ Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed

Compensation:$60,000 – $65,000
This salary range reflects the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
