Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Students also have access to a robust program of applied research and outreach hosted by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station laboratories, farms, business incubators, and marine stations throughout the state. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Director Supervisor for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.
Among the key duties of the position are the following: Oversees operational logistics and supervises event services including venue selection, contract reviews, vendor coordination, and funding allocations, ensuring all proposals are reviewed and approved before being presented to leadership. Collaborates with the Project Manager Supervisor to ensure efficient and effective utilization of internal funds that best support operations aligned with the strategic goals of the school across campus and all outlying research field stations, farms, and other designated sites. Collaborates with building coordinators and off-site directors to enhance SEBS/NJAES infrastructure. This includes reviewing work and following up with status and funding to ensure projects are progressing as planned. Partners with Rutgers Environmental Health and Safety (REHS) to oversee environmental conditions in SEBS/NJAES research labs and facilities, both on campus and at designated off-site locations. Strategic planning for regularly scheduled site visits, walkthroughs, and meetings to identify immediate maintenance needs or long-term capital planning projects throughout SEBS-NJAES on-campus locations and affiliated outlying areas. Works closely with SEBS leadership as well as local stakeholders and will coordinate with the Project Manager Supervisor, Assistant Manager, and Lab Facility Specialist to ensure operations align with SEBS’ mission and support research and innovation-driven educational opportunities for the Rutgers community. Coordinates requests and provides status updates as needed. Conducts training on university-specific systems and processes.
