Rosewood Little Dix Bay currently seeks an Assistant Engineering Manager who is a well-rounded and seasoned individual to be a part of our iconic resort.
OVERVIEW /BASIC FUNCTION:
The main role of the Assistant Engineering Manager is to assist the Chief Engineer in managing all engineering/maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security, and asset protection. Help to increase guest and associate satisfaction through effective communications and training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
• To assist with the organization of Engineering Department with the coordination of daily/shift and other standup meetings as needed. Be instrumental in maintaining a safe work environment and implementing safety program for Rosewood Little Dix Bay.• To be responsible for administering all engineering standard procedures for proper and efficient operation of Rosewood Little Dix Bay and coordinating all work done by in house engineering as well as outside contractors as needed.• To provide an attractive, comfortable, well maintained, safe and secure hotel and to handle all maintenance, mechanical and other similar matters to provide a high degree of guest satisfaction.• To understand the annual budget for property maintenance and energy cost and work towards maintaining expenses within guidelines.• To be proficient in the operation of Sewage Treatment Plant, Auto Shop, Laundry and Power Plant. To train others in the serving of the above, including in critical areas such as Hurricane Preparedness• To be able to directly supervise and monitor a staff of approx. 20-30 engineering personnel and various outside contractors. To participate in providing an engaging working environment for the team. • To assist with and monitor P.M. programs as required and maintain accurate records of such work.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience: Five years' experience in hospitality industry in the specified role. Experience of operating in a remote environment preferred.  • Education: High school diploma or GED; 5 years' experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.OR• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major.• Language: Required to speak, read, and write English fluently. Knowledge of other languages beneficial.
General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Must have good eye for detail and be accurate and thorough in one's work with good follow up.
