Requirements
The Assistant Equipment Manager assists the Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment Operations in the annual procurement of approximately $1.5 million in athletics apparel, equipment and footwear and participates in activities related to the purchase, storage, issuance and return, and repair of athletic equipment, clothing and uniforms for Georgetown University intercollegiate sports teams and athletics department staff. They adhere to operational policies and procedures in order to maintain full compliance with NCAA, Conference and University regulations, as well as compliance with terms of contracts with manufacturers. Responsible for multiple sport programs, additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist in maintaining a computerized inventory control and POS system for all equipment room stock, including the following of security procedures to prevent inventory losses.
Ensure the availability of uniforms and equipment for practice, and all home and away contests, providing transportation and allocation of on-field equipment for each team practice.
Manage practice operations for select Varsity teams, aiding in travel operations and transporting team equipment to visiting sites for away contests for select Varsity teams.
Transport and set up sideline communication for all Football games, ensuring equipment and apparel is properly prepared for post-season participation.
Assist in the planning and procurement of water and soft drink deliveries and distribution for internal use at team events.
Prepare and maintain related sizing records and files, including notes on student-athletes equipment history, participating in the maintenance and repair of athletic equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
Inspect equipment for defects, collect and clean soiled clothing items, and inspect/maintain locker rooms to ensure clean and sanitary operational environment.
Assist in the receiving of all department packages and coordinate drop off times with several parcel services, embellishing and repairing team and department products.
Work with the Director to oversee and distribute annual participation and postseason awards for student-athletes in full compliance with NCAA and University regulations.
Assist in the organization and execution of ordering and distribution of Varsity letter awards, as well as in the fulfillment of authorized orders for Georgetown athletics memorabilia.
Assist the Director in his/her responsibilities in the area of transportation, including, but not limited to coordinating and maintaining the efficient operation of all Department vehicles, identifying and reporting items requiring maintenance and repair, and scheduling vehicles for repair and preventive maintenance.
Assist in scheduling and maintaining a computerized event management system for all equipment department vehicles, scheduling and coordinating buses for team and student transportation to home men’s basketball games.
Work Interactions
This position reports directly to the Director of Equipment and Transportation and other colleagues in the equipment room, department of athletics coaches, staff and student-athletes.

Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Up to 1 years of experience working in athletics equipment, preferably at the NCAA Division I or Professional Athletics level. Knowledge of NCAA rules regarding equipment and apparel preferred
Proficiency with applicable computer software programs (e.g., inventory tracking systems)
Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Very organized, detailed and strong work ethic
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
Valid driver’s license with good driving record; must be insurable
Available weekends and evenings

Pay Range
The projected hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $15.75 - $19.25. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
