As an Assistant Fabric Developer at COS, you will be responsible for visualizing, structuring and coordinating the material strategy as well as execution through an organized and user friendly material library, purpose built material boards and a high-quality material database. You are passionate about fabrics, great at structure and will assist the Fabric Developers with various coordination and administration tasks throughout the fabric sourcing and development process. This role will work in close collaboration with the Fabric Developers and other relevant roles in buying, design and production to support, administrate and coordinate various tasks throughout the sourcing process.
What you will do:
Support in visualizing the material strategy clearly both physically and digitally through building the fabric boards, hanger rails, reports, dashboards and maintaining and updating them on a regular basis so that the collection is always accurately represented. Assist and support in material strategy execution and follow up material booking utilization and the actual results of our plans. Support in local London research, sourcing, where needed, substitute fabrics for toiling and swatch in house. Assist the Fabric Developers with coordination, administration and various tasks throughout the sourcing and development process; from material development missions to planning of supplier sourcing weeks and fabric fair schedules.Facilitate smooth handovers across teams (supplier, quality, production merchandising, buying) and suppliers by ensuring all records are transparent and up to date around material specifications, testing outcomes and approvals, ensuring all relevant teams in production have the necessary information. What you need to succeed:
Previous experience in an assistant fabric development/coordinator role, ideally within a premium brand.Knowledgeable about apparel, material and components and preferably have experience working in a global supply chain context.Strong understanding of customer aesthetics and a genuine passion for working at COS.Customer centric mindset and an enthusiasm for the fashion industry.Highly organised with the ability to prioritise administrative tasks effectively. Understanding of sustainable fashion, material innovation and product development.Excellent team player and inspiring communicator.Ability to work well in a fast paced and creative environmentAdditional InformationThis is a permanent full-time contract based at our Head Office in London.
