Assistant Factory Manager - Wax Plant
Key Responsibilities:
Production Support & Management:
Assist the Factory Manager in overseeing daily factory operations, ensuring that production targets and deadlines are consistently met. Monitor and support the manufacturing process, including wax melting, fragrance blending, pouring, curing, and packaging. Help enforce quality control standards and resolve any production issues in collaboration with the Factory Manager. Step in for the Factory Manager when required and make decisions to ensure the smooth running of operations. Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement:
Work alongside the Factory Manager to apply Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational efficiency. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and 5S implementation, to optimize productivity and reduce waste. Assist with the identification and implementation of process improvements to streamline production and reduce costs. Quality Control & Six Sigma Support:
Help ensure the factory operates at the required Six Sigma quality levels, minimizing defects and ensuring consistency in production. Use data-driven approaches (DMAIC) to identify and resolve production problems, leading to continuous improvement. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action plans to address non-conformance and ensure product quality. Team Leadership & Staff Support:
Provide leadership and guidance to production staff, ensuring team members are motivated, well-trained, and meeting performance expectations. Assist with managing employee schedules and shift allocations in coordination with the Factory Manager. Step in as the lead in the absence of the Factory Manager, maintaining productivity and workflow. Safety & Compliance:
Support the Factory Manager in maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct safety audits and take corrective actions when necessary, fostering a culture of safety and ensuring proper equipment usage. Inventory & Supply Chain Support:
Assist in managing raw material inventory and ensure timely ordering to avoid production delays. Work closely with the procurement team to track inventory levels and handle stock reordering. Maintain accurate records of production quantities and materials used. Reporting & Analysis:
Assist in the preparation of production performance reports, including data on quality control, output, and operational challenges. Identify areas for operational improvement and work with the Factory Manager to implement solutions. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred). 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. ( wax plant experience will be an added bonus) Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and tools (such as DMAIC, 5S, Kaizen). Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred). Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and quality control processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to make data-driven decisions. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality production.
