Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Financial Benefits Specialist, responsible for assisting with financial management and maintenance of individual funds and benefits. Responsible for food stamp benefit applications and recertification, following up with residential staff to obtain necessary documentation from residences if needed. prepare and filing of annual Medicaid Recertification for individuals, obtaining required documentation from residences when necessary. Complete on-line Social Security Representative Payee Reports. Conduct Food Stamp Interviews as scheduled by Department of Social Services for initial food stamp application and/or recertification
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
+ Assist the Financial Benefits Specialist with food stamp benefit applications and recertification, following up with residential staff to obtain necessary documentation from residences if needed.
+ Assist the Financial Benefits Specialist with timely preparation and filing of annual Medicaid Recertification for individuals, obtaining required documentation from residences when necessary.
+ Completing on-line/paper Social Security Representative Payee Reports, utilizing on-line residential accounts/ledgers.
+ Obtain monthly wage report to Social Security, following up with residential staff to obtain wages and paystubs. Phone in/fax individual's monthly wage report and paystubs to Social Security.
+ Conduct Food Stamp Interviews as scheduled by the Department of Social Services for initial food stamp application or recertification.
+ Responsible for reviewing daily mail from Social Security, DSS, Medicare and other benefit related providers. Assuring that all benefit letters are received for everyone and filed by residence and following up as necessary. Also, responsible for opening and recording on a spreadsheet the HEAP benefit letters from DSS. Maintain Yearly Social Security benefit letters, mail out 1099 Social Security benefit statements and ensure yearly HUD verifications for various HUD homes.
+ Responsible for completing residential reimbursements for individual purchases, collecting information from Program Secretaries for reimbursement via the agency credit card. Maintain daily, weekly and monthly reports/spreadsheets to submit to Accounts Payable.
+ Complete daily residential banking withdrawals for all individuals/residents.
+ Assistance with any other tasks as directed by the Coordinator of Financial Benefits.
+ Serves as positive role model for employees and individuals. Maintains neat appearance, hygiene, and grooming. Promotes positive behaviors and interactions with all individuals.
Qualifications
Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred with at least 2 years of related experience or a H.S. Diploma and Four years of experience in a position requiring a working knowledge and application of Social Security and Medicaid rules and regulations. Relevant experience may be considered in place of education requirements

$20- $23 per hour

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
