Assistant FLS Manager (Fire & Life Safety)

What will I be doing?

\n

As Assistant FLS Manager, you are responsible for managing all aspects of security, safety and risk management processes for assigned hotels to deliver a safe Guest and Member experience. You will also be required to assist in investigations and liaise with local enforcement officials. An Assistant FLS Manager will also be required to carry out full investigations and audit the hotel to ensure health and safety compliance. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nManage the internal and external guest accident/incident records by applying standard legal practices where necessary\nGuide the investigative process relative to criminal activities at the Property Level\nManage health and safety, food safety, fire safety, security, trading standards, public health, housing, and disability within allocated hotels\nAssist in investigations at hotel level and provide advice for the protection of the company's owned and managed assets\nLiaise with local enforcement officials on statutory routine inspections and accident investigation\nAnalyze statistical accident data to allocate resources for high risk areas at hotels\nProvide support to operations, statutory specialist training, supplier approval and crisis management\nImplement safety risk management practices in line with the company's safety policy\nActively reduce guest complaints relating to safety and fire safety\nTrain Safety issues to managers, supervisors and colleagues\n

\n\nFive or more years in Security or related experienced required within the hospitality industry\nEffective time management skills\nSupervisory skills\nPositive attitude\nGood communication skills and people skills\nExcellent grooming standards\nFlexibility to respond to a range of different work situations\nAbility to work under pressure\nAbility to work on their own\nAbility to deal effectively with all team members and guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information\nExperience in Safety and Security Management\nFire Safety Management/Risk Assessment\nAbility to make decisions independently, complete in-depth investigations and act as expert in Safety and Security within the hotels\nCommunicate with team members to assist in their personal development through identification of individual training needs, development or support\nParticipate in necessary training and request training to meet development needs\nAbility to read, listen and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing in order to ascertain and document important information\nThorough knowledge of the hotels floor plans and layout of the building(s), function rooms and working knowledge of the city and surrounding area\nAbility to use a variety of programs on the computer in order to prepare correspondence, produce reports and presentations and communicate via email\nAbility to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for an eight-plus hour shift\nVisual ability to observe team members in the work place, analyze operations and detect situations of concern with regard to both team member and guest behaviors\nHigh school graduate or equivalent\n\n

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

\n\nUniversity degree in security and safety\nFire Safety Management/Risk Assessment\nKnowledge of safety regulations\nPrevious experience with Hilton Security and Safety standards\n\n
