Position Summary
Whitworth University is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Football Coach, Offensive Coordinator to join our coaching staff. This role is integral to the success of our football program and aligns with Whitworth's mission of providing an education that develops both the mind and heart. The Offensive Coordinator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading the offensive strategy while coaching the quarterback position. This individual will also be an active recruiter and mentor, building a culture of excellence, leadership, and personal growth among student-athletes.

Core Responsibilities
Offensive Strategy & Coaching | 70%
Develop, implement, and coordinate offensive schemes that enhance team performance and competitiveness.Lead and mentor student-athletes in the quarterback position, fostering skill development and leadership on and off the field.Collaborate with the head coach and coaching staff to create and execute effective game plans.
Provide in-game adjustments and strategic recommendations to maximize offensive success.
Ensure compliance with all NCAA, Northwest Conference, and university policies and procedures.
Recruiting & Student-Athlete Development | 20%Identify, recruit, and retain high-caliber student-athletes who align with Whitworth's academic and athletic values.
Develop strong relationships with prospective student-athletes, their families, and high school coaches.
Support the holistic development of student-athletes, emphasizing character, leadership, and academic success.
Program & University Engagement | 10%Assist in planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and off-season programs.
Collaborate with the Director of Strength & Conditioning to enhance player development.
Engage with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to strengthen the university's athletic community.
Represent the football program and Whitworth University positively in public relations and fundraising efforts.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Core Competencies
Master's degree preferred. A bachelor's degree is required and exceptional coaching experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree. Three years of demonstrated successful coaching experience at the college or university level desired. A personal commitment to the Christian faith and to the integration of faith and learning.Demonstrated cultural competence, proven awareness of and experience to effectively establish relationships and positive communications across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to, race, gender, varying abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, class, or religious perspectives.Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships with students, coaches, Whitworth staff and faculty, print and electronic media, and members of the Spokane community. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, faculty, alumni, fans, parents, and students. Valid driver's license and compliance with Whitworth's Campus Vehicle Policy.Core Competencies Proven ability to develop and implement innovative offensive strategies to maximize team success.Expertise in coaching and mentoring quarterbacks to enhance performance, leadership, and decision-making skills.Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes who align with the university's mission and competitive goals.
Ability to make real-time adjustments during games to improve offensive execution and overall team performance.
Strong ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, administration, and student-athletes to create a cohesive and effective program.
Dedication to student-athlete development, ensuring success in both academic and athletic pursuits.
Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations to maintain program integrity.
