We are looking for a highly motivated, customer focused leader to join our Front Office team as the Assistant Front Office Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have a proven track record of developing a team to provide exceptional service, is open to learning and leading by example, responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team, as well as being there to support the team both personally and professionally. Your Role: You will assist with oversight of the Front Office operations to lead the team in helping guests discover their “Wanderlust” experience You will assist in developing and mentoring a team of Front Desk Agents, Bell Staff, Concierge You will assist in ensuring proper training materials are in place and used by each department. You will monitor room inventory, rate and plan availability and lead the team to maintain average daily rate to ensure revenue maximization forecasting occupancy. You will lead by example to ensure all guest interactions are handled in a professional manner. Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest Check guests in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted and fulfilled, and accurate information is established Help to resolve problems and “WOW” guests through recovery when things aren’t quite right Works closely with the Maintenance and Housekeeping teams to communicate and coordinate the day Interact with hotel/resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information Provide support to Front Office staff during peak hours of business Oversee all areas of Front Office Operations while the Front Office Manager is not on property Qualifications Advanced understanding of guest services skills and behaviors. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task, adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment. Strong communication skills with ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing. Ability to initiate and organize required task independently, making decisions based on guest needs, established brand standards and hotel policies. Able to effectively communicate with guest about their concerns with empathy and professionalism to deescalate complaints, collect accurate information, and successfully resolve concerns. Able to be effective in identifying issues where services may be falling short in guest needs, providing thoughtful guidance and solutions as they arise. Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of 8-hour shift. Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite Products. Able to identify and respond quickly to safety concerns and emergency situations. Two (2) years of experience in hotel front office operations, in a management role, is required, preferably with a premium full-service hotel. Experience using hotel management software or other relevant programs/technology. Degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
