Assistant Fund Accountant
DescriptionThe role is an entry level accounting-focused and will involve assisting our Fund accounting team in accounting and financial reporting for portfolio of funds and other structures mainly in the private equity and real estate sector. The individual will liaise with fund manager clients, third parties (including auditors) and other external advisors necessary to ensure smooth operation of the structure and to ensure that deadlines are met. Specific responsibilities include bookkeeping, assistance with periodic reporting (usually under Luxembourg GAAP or IFRS), assisting with capital calls, distributions, transactions and other day to day functions. The individual will work within a small client team, reporting on a daily basis to the relevant Langham Hall senior fund accountants and manager.
Key Responsibilities\nAccounting and bookkeeping of funds and SPVs (posting of invoices, interest and accruals etc.)\nCarry out monthly bank reconciliations and maintain all supporting documentation\nRespond to client queries and participate in client calls as required\nAssist senior team members in preparation of financial statements, using Lux GAAP and IFRS\nAssist senior team members in populating consolidation workings and intercompany eliminations\nAssist and in some cases in charge of regulatory reporting deliverables such as BCL reporting, CSSF reporting etc.\nAssist in preparation of VAT/CIT returns\nAssisting in the coordination of year-end audits;\nPrepare bank payments in various banking platforms and ensuring necessary supporting documents (including KYC documents) are obtained and attached for an efficient review process\nAssist in the process of calculating equalisation, drawdown and distribution processes and able to refer to the relevant section of the LPA/ Fund document for details of equalisation, drawdown and distribution\nAssist in calculation of management feesĀ \n
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise\nGraduate in Finance, Economics or Accounting\nPro-active, motivated and eager to learn and grow in fast paced working environment\nFlexible, excellent team player and have a positive attitude towards problem solving issues\nFluent in English (French or German would be considered as an advantage)\nExcellent organisational and interpersonal skills and able to work under tight deadlines\nThe candidate will receive training and coaching required and it is not expected that the candidate hold any material prior experience, however, basic understanding of Lux GAAP and IFRS\n
