Assistant General Counsel - Executive Director

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Assistant General Counsel – Executive Director as part of the Regulatory Compliance, Programs & Controls team in the Chief Operating Office Legal Division. This attorney will provide legal support and advice on enterprise regulatory remediation and compliance activities, as well as serve as a trusted legal advisor and strategic partner to senior leaders in the supported functions.

The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

In this role you will:

Maintain an integrated and strategic perspective on regulatory remediation issues across the enterpriseDevelop and maintain relationships with key internal and external constituencies on issues that may present legal, regulatory, compliance, or reputational risk to Wells FargoProvide practical and legal advice to colleagues, partners, and stakeholders related to supported functionsEngage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with the function or affected by its outcomesApply cross-disciplinary or specialty expertise proactively to manage the most complex legal and regulatory issues, with demonstrated ability to address significant mattersCollaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including more experienced managers, within the department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with the best interests of Wells FargoDevelop and lead implementation of strategic business initiatives, and lead work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiativesEducate, train, and supervise less experienced attorneys within the Legal Department

Required Qualifications:

7+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationActive State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States

Experience with prudential financial regulatory supervision and enforcement, including cross-business, complex implementation of remediation and advocacyAbility to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple concurrent mattersDemonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing environments while building relationships and to negotiate for positive business outcomes while effectively managing legal riskDemonstrated understanding of complex business activities and operationsProven ability to create and sustain effective, influential, and trusted relationships with business and staff group leaders in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$173,300.00 - $359,900.00
