Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Overview We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our team at The Inn at Bay Harbor. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will work closely with the Housekeeping Manager to oversee daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities Supervision and Leadership: Assist in managing and supervising housekeeping staff, including room attendants and house aids. Train, motivate, and develop housekeeping staff to meet and exceed performance standards. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards. Operational Efficiency: Ensure that rooms and public areas are cleaned according to the company’s established standards. Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, and order supplies as necessary. Assist in the implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and quality control measures. Support the Housekeeping Manager in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Guest Satisfaction: Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that guest rooms and public spaces meet cleanliness and comfort standards for an exceptional guest experience. Work with the front desk and maintenance departments to address guest concerns related to housekeeping. Administrative Support: Assist with department budgeting and cost control, ensuring efficient use of resources. Assist in preparing reports related to occupancy, cleaning times, and departmental performance. Oversee the laundry and linen processes to maintain inventory and quality standards. Team Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Housekeeping Manager to plan and coordinate department goals and objectives. Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Participate in department meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous improvement in operations. Qualifications Qualifications: Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting. Strong leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation techniques, tools, and equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with housekeeping software and Microsoft Office. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. A high school diploma or equivalent (a degree or certification in hospitality management is a plus). Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and materials.
