Assistant Insurance Manager – Captive & Insurance Management (Guernsey) Aon Insurance Managers in Guernsey are seeking to recruit an Assistant Manager to join the Insurance Centre of Excellence team, to help with the management of a portfolio of operational clients, with a key focus on Business Development. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Guernsey office” NB. This is dependent on role and aligns with in country smart working policy. What the day will look like Insurance Management Assist in the day-to-day management of underwriting and claims reviews, recording and reporting. This will involve working closely with management and assisting them as and when necessary, the aim of which is to always deliver an exceptional standard of client service. Monitor renewal deadlines for allocated clients and be proactive in starting renewal process. Review of (re)insurance documentation to ensure it aligns with the agreed terms and conditions, ensuring all control forms and checklists have been correctly completed and authorised. Reviewing and analysing premiums, monthly claims information and quota share bordereaux reports received from (re)insurance brokers. Regular review and reporting of underwriting and claims information to the team, clients, and Board members. This will include the preparation of trackers, executive summaries, and Board packs with presentation to client and Board members at meetings where required. Working closely with the Finance and Treasury teams to assist with producing monthly accounting information. Liaison with auditors and other third parties as necessary to ensure audit reviews and year-end accounts are signed off in a timely manner. Ensure that all Company and client deadlines in respect of insurance administration, underwriting and claims are met, within the requisite procedures and practices and to the agreed service levels. Corresponding professionally with external parties such as clients, brokers, lawyers, actuaries, auditors, banks, investment managers and insurance/reinsurance companies Actively assist in the development and ongoing training/education of staff working within the underwriting and claims team. Delegating tasks to other team members as appropriate Following the office procedures manual and client specific procedure manuals Completing or assisting in completing in any other ad hoc projects or work as assigned by the management team, delivering to any set timescale agreed. Business Development Develop quality visual and oral presentations using PowerPoint and other IT tools. Coordinate RFP responses and new business opportunities. Prepare on-boarding documentation and register on internal systems supporting Risk and Compliance colleagues. Ensure external communications are impactful and on brand. Work with Business Development Lead to develop a LinkedIn profile and protect their network to ensure we have maximum external visibility. Develop and maintain the existing databases, for accurate reporting and timely communication, ensuring Client Service Executives proactively follow up with prospects. Conduct market research and accurately maintain Company website. Organise all BD related events and support BD reporting. How this opportunity is different This unique opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to support the day-to-day insurance administration of client entities, as well as supporting the Business Development (“BD”) Lead and BD committee members to implement agreed business development and marketing strategies to achieve goals within agreed budget and timelines. Skills and experience that will lead to success. Confidence to make presentations to peers, clients, and prospects. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Commitment to continuous personal development Willingness to travel. Previous experience in the captive insurance or reinsurance industry is desirable. Knowledge of marketing and business development is desirable. The candidate should be working towards an ACII qualification and have general insurance experience. On-the-job training will be provided and any studies towards ACII and other relevant qualifications as agreed will be supported.
