Job Title: Chariton DC Assistant Inventory Control Manager
Department: Inventory Control
FLSA: Exempt
General Function:
Oversees the duties to maintain accurate warehouse inventory by slotting, sizing, counting and grouping merchandise, solves warehouse merchandise problems for purchasing department, assists in the set up and maintenance of inventory control system. Consideration needs to be given to balance storage needed with warehouse labor. Assists Inventory Control Manager with research, reporting, scheduling and personnel, as needed.

Reporting Relations:
Accountable and Reports to: Inventory Control Manager
Positions that Report to you: Grocery, Perishable, and HBC Inventory Department Managers and Inventory Control Clerks
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains inventory documentation on WMS computer system regarding damage adjustments, store returns, physical counts, slot dimensions, cycle counting. Recommends slotting arrangements to increase productivity. Performs cycle and special counts and searches for missing merchandise. Coordinates with purchasing department and other distribution departments. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Submits and assists with submitting support tickets pertaining to Inventory Control. Performs new hire setup and support ticket submission. Attends regular update meetings and holds IC training meetings. Assists with scheduling and assists IC managers and clerks as needed. Research and output data using SQL, Oracle, HOST, WMS, Corp Menu, MS Office.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with purchase order problems related to receiving. Assists with fiscal year-end inventory audit. Maintains liaison with IT regarding inventory. Determines new location and moves merchandise to make room for more products. Handles requests on inventory from stores, purchasing specialists and other personnel. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
+ Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
+ Must have the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
+ Must possess the ability to file, email, and create materials and documents; copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; interpret written work instructions.
Education and Experience:
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Database and MS Suite knowledge.
+ Good communication skills necessary.
+ Three or more years of similar or related work experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities (Direct Reports):
Inventory Control personnel
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
+ Visual requirements include clarity of vision at distance of less than 20 inches and up to 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
+ Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, stooping, kneeling, walking, reaching, standing. Pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
The duties of this position are performed in a warehouse environment. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day. There is exposure to dust, temperature changes, noise, and equipment movement hazards on a daily basis.
Equipment Used to Perform Job:
Telephone, PC mainframe terminal, copier, printer, tape measure, tractor or scooter, RF gun, laptop PC.
