We are seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our rapidly growing team.
The Opportunity:

Our Assistant Kitchen Manager will oversee all of these kitchen operations and ensure that we continue providing an exceptional guest experience. You will lead our team by supporting, motivating and educating each employee as well as creating a positive, customer-service oriented environment for our students, athletes, faculty, staff and visitors. The Accountabilities:
Assists in overseeing ail aspects of kitchen operations. Maintains currency with, understands and ensures unit compliance with all university policies and procedures inventory procedures and with all applicable local. state and federal heath and safety guidelines.
Assists with planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, scheduling and delegating responsibility to the staff. ensuring the goals and objectives of the kitchen are met on a daily basis by the staff. Assists Kitchen Manager, as assigned.
Ensures adherence to all systems, procedures and policies. Contributes to the creation, maintenance and implementation of all unit Standard Operating Procedures in coordination with Hospitality Management.
Assists with maintaining costs for food. beverage and labor within established budgetary guidelines and ensures unit generates revenue.
Directly supervises ail assigned subordinate staff. Recruits, screens, hires and trains staff. Evaluates employee performance and provides guidance and feedback to assigned staff. Counsels. disciplines and/or terminates employees as required.
Develops and implements security related procedures such as office opening and closing routines, recognition of duress signals and key controls. Coordinates secunty activities with University Public Safety Department. Promotes and maintains standards for security conscious awareness and behavior. Maintains know1edge of university's crime prevention and suppression programs and services. Ensures dissemination of security related information to staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
The Qualifiers:
Education: Specialized or technical training.
Experience: 2 years.
Expertise:
Two plus years experience in a leadership role within a high-volume, full service kitchen environment.
Strong track record of success in previous assignments demonstrating upward career mobility.
Demonstrated knowledge of pertinent local, federal and state health and safety laws and regulations.

The annual base salary for this position is $66,560. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
