Job Title: Assistant Lab Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Assistant Lab Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, handling, and preparing laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate data entry, and providing excellent customer service throughout the laboratory process.

ResponsibilitiesReceiving and properly handling specimens.Preparing specimens for laboratory testing.Entering data and performing quality control of sample information in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and scanning documents to support testing.Reviewing test requisition forms and shipment manifests to ensure documentation matches samples received and resolving discrepancies.Working with team members to collect information as needed.Ensuring customer satisfaction throughout laboratory processing.Facilitating specimens to the appropriate workflows for downstream testing.Acting as the primary customer contact for all laboratory tests, including clinical, pharma, and clinical trial testing.Ensuring all customer needs are met from kit and sample delivery to final reporting and end of testing deliverables.Maintaining a complaint log documenting any customer issues and notifying leadership of all perceived issues and complaints.Ensuring that policies and procedures in the area of responsibility reflect current practice.Maintaining accurate logs representing current samples in for testing.Performing quality checks on all deliverables to customers and partnering with other employees for a second QC check when required.Supporting incoming and outgoing sample shipments.Training other personnel as required.Essential SkillsHigh School diploma; Associates (AA or AS) degree is strongly preferred.1+ year experience equivalent to an Assistant Lab Technician, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.Minimum of 2 years Customer Service experience.Proficiency in computer skills, such as word processing, Excel, and information systems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and HIPAA.Knowledge of working with potentially biohazardous specimens.Knowledge of medical terminology.Positive can-do attitude and the ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociates (AA or AS) degree is strongly preferred.Experience in a related field.Work Environment

The position follows a standard Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm shift. The work involves handling potentially biohazardous specimens and requires strict adherence to regulatory compliance and HIPAA guidelines. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and evolving work environment, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50
