The Assistant Maintenance Worker supports our operation by completing daily tasks such as grass cutting, landscaping, and minor repairs as needed.
In this role, you will:
Take leadership on the maintenance and landscaping of the grounds, including grass cutting, weeding, brush removal, etc. using a variety of machinery and tools Assist with work on the organic farm, general repairs, cleaning, laundry, set up of rooms for guests, and security of the facility as needed to maintain Association assets in good condition. Responds to work orders as needed and informs Facility Supervisor of any ongoing maintenance concerns Support the work of other maintenance staff, housekeeping staff, and volunteers to ensure that day to day tasks are carried out Adhere to all YMCA policies and maintenance standards, adheres to Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHIMIS safety procedures and guidelines Perform other duties as assignedYou bring:
Experience in landscaping procedures and operation of related equipment Demonstrated ability to work with lawn, landscaping, and farm equipment; demonstrated ability to operate small power tools Experience in general maintenance and equipment repairs an asset Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills Flexible hours ability to work weekdays and weekends Pool Operator Certified, considered an asset Water Treatment, considered an asset Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belongingWhat you need to succeed:
