POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Manager of Entertainment Technology is responsible to ensure the day-to-day technical operations of the lighting, sound, rigging, projections, video, FX, etc. for all events and entertainment while monitoring and maintaining the systems to ensure un-interrupted and reliable operation. This position will act similarly to a theatrical “Technical Director” and will be responsible for recording the technical specifications of the products they use to maintain consistency throughout the production process. Will ensure tech riders are received and followed, equipment is rented and set up as needed, suggests purchases of tech systems and equipment, maintains all equipment, and oversees their installation. Responsible to train their staff to use the new technology during all events and productions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the day-to-day technical operation of all Entertainment VenuesSetting and enforcing safe-use guidelines for equipmentRoutinely performing (or delegating) preventative maintenance on equipmentPurchasing new equipment and replacing failing equipment as neededKeeping an inventory of the theater's technical suppliesOverseeing and assisting throughout all tech rehearsals, load-in/load-out processActing as the last line of defense for technical problemsAdvising the production manager, content manager, and other internal and external staff as needed on feasibility, cost, and equipment capabilitiesRecommends hiring and recruiting of tech staffResponsible for Writing SOPs and training technical staffScheduling and leading meetings and regular check-ins with different departmentsScheduling technical staff for events or performances in coordination with the production managerSetting project deadlinesCreating and implementing budgets Acting as the technical point of contact for renters and outside productionAssists to use and develop all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and preventative maintenance program for the areas related to the DepartmentCooperates and collaborates with Property Services teams regarding Entertainment operation and maintenance of all technical equipment as needed for the permanently installed attractionsCarries out assigned daily operational tasks, liaises with the other departments as needed to ensure all systems relevant to show performances and maintain high standard of technical services in all entertainment venues are always running smoothlyAssists in maintaining accurate records and monitors closely all operating expenses to ensure that the budget is adhered to and costs strictly controlledSubmits monthly budgets and reports on time with highest accuracyEnsures all maintenance and technical requests are performed on timeGiven the complexity and the risk related with the equipment under the responsibility of the department, ensures that all technical operation and procedures are safeHandles all AVL related system setup, standby and dismantling of EventsOperate AVL systems as neededCoordinates with Housekeeping/Environmental Services department for any follow up cleaning jobs required after completion of each jobEnsures all tools and equipment are regularly inspected for their correct functions and safe for operational usesAssists to ensure that department has a good inventory of spare partsEnsures the tidiness and cleanliness of the working bench, workshop areas and storage areas so that a safe and decent workplace is maintainedFollows up all deficiencies noted during regular inspection and take ownership to carry out necessary works and reports to his/her superiors at first instant for any breakdown that will affect operationsPersonally, supervises all hazardous work and ensures all safety regulations are being strictly observed by all employeesMaintains good relationship with contractors to get the best service possibleAdheres to all company policies and proceduresReport’s accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to superiors and relevant departmentsPerforms other reasonable job duties as assigned by superiors from time to timeQUALIFICATIONS:
Experience & Education
A minimum of 5 years of dedicated pertinent work as a Technical Director to be qualified.Degree in Theatrical Technology or other rated disciplineRequires a thorough knowledge of each of the technical theater disciplines, experience with theatrical design, and an understanding of the production timeline.Work experience in multi-venue receiving houses is an advantageWork experience in casino/corporate entertainment is an advantageSkills
