Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Event Operations, the Assistant Manager will assist the Ballpark Operations events department with the execution of events at Nationals Park. The Assistant Manager will work as a lead operator on internal and external events on game days and non-game days while also supporting the execution of the larger full-park events and concerts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Event Execution
Serve as an operational contact for the variety of game day and non-game day events at Nationals Park including contracted and self-produced events by the Nationals Park Events department. Oversee the operational execution of larger special ticket game day events such as Ladies Night, Faith Day, and Battle of the Bases. Assist the Director, Event Operations in the execution of full-park events and concerts such as Plaza Stage and Post-Game concerts. Manage the execution of events from the development phase through post-event review to ensure efficient and high-quality event production leading to customer satisfaction. Schedule and attend client site visits to develop event logistics within contracted and budgeted requirements. Receival approval from clients on necessary event documents such as event layouts. Coordinate with Levy Restaurants on the execution of all food and beverage elements related to each specific event. Develop staffing plans related to each specific event with Nationals Park’s internal and external partners to support specific event related needs. Work with Nationals Park facilities, grounds, security, and additional ballpark operations departments on specific facility related items necessary for each event. Work with vendors and within contract stipulations to ensure seamless load-in and load-out for events. Utilize Momentous Software to input all necessary event related information such as event space diagrams, staff notes, and facility requests.Other
Assist in the scheduling of suite and space bookings through the Nationals Park facility report booking system. Participate in yearly budgeting and planning for event equipment, furniture, and other items. Maintain event storage location management and related event supplies. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Communications, or other related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in event production and operational management.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
Must be highly organized and detailed oriented. Demonstrated ability to assist in the coordination of a wide variety of public and private events. Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and dependable. Must be familiar with floor plan layouts and event management terminology. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal team, cross-functional team, and external parties. Knowledge and proficiency in Internet communications technologies, (e-mail, Web, etc.) and MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Momentous Systems and Social Tables preferred but not required.Physical/Environmental Requirements
Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work will require weekend and/or evening work. Game-Day and Event: Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.Compensation:
The projected annual salary range for this position is $58,000 - $60,000 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
