We’re looking for an amazing Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage professional to fill this role, which is based in our Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge in Fairbanks, AK. You’ll be responsible for front of house operations for 2 restaurants and 2 bars along with exclusive dining for our escorted group program. This position will also be responsible for cleanliness, inventory, ordering, staffing, training and training development, product development and cross departmental collaboration.

**Responsibilities**
+ Work alongside crew during operating season to oversee, motivate, and ensure proper task completion.
+ Hire, train, supervise, coach, and support the Food and Beverage operation to ensure efficient, safe, and well scoring results for the department.
+ Ensure restaurants are clean, organized and well stocked.
+ Coordinate with management to compete necessary operational tasks, support effective employee scheduling, and action management team’s financial and guest facing initiatives.
**Requirements**
+ This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in food preparation and production equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant management, culinary degree, or equivalent certified training. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
+ This job normally requires three years of progressively responsible positions in restaurant or equivalent institution cooking.
+ Demonstrated supervisory experience in multiple food and beverage outlets is required.
+ Minimum age of 21 is required.
+ Must have or the ability to obtain an Alaska Food Handlers card and TAPS alcohol server permit.
+ Must have valid driver’s license for the vehicle being operated (not revoked or suspended).
+ Must authorize company to obtain a motor vehicle record annually from each state where license was held in the previous 36 months.
+ Must have a driving record with no more than two moving violations within the past 36 months or one serious traffic violation within the previous five years.
+ Must pass a pre-employment background check, including a credit report.
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).
**_Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:_**
+ Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
+ Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
+ Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
+ Ability to work with all levels of management, employees, and customers with sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
+ Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
+ Ability to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments, management, and staff.
+ Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including all company health and safety standards.
+ Ability to lift up to 50lbs/23kgs.
+ Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
