Assistant Manager, Social Media (adidas Basketball)

Purpose: 

Deliver the adidas message to the adidas consumer through social media management and publishing across all relevant social channels and platforms. Deliver value to the adidas consumer by; creating engaging, social first content that highlights our products, athletes and experiences.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

Own the social media calendar across global adidas social channels with a primary focus on Basketball 

Publishing content and manage and moderate adidas’ social channels & communities 

Providing analytical reporting and making real time recommendations to improve resonance of social content  

Implement the brand and category social media strategy with a focus on key campaigns, brand, category and consumer moments 

Responsible for publishing real time reactive moments  

Support @adidas social media team on content planning and publishing for US sport. and upon demand, singular brand social media posts for other categories on US time zone, i.e. publish planned content on @adidas for American Football reactive, Baseball reactive, Football Club World Cup 2025, World Cup 2026.  

Plan & input into content creation that supports the key campaigns, brand moments and reactive publishing 

Ideate, concept, capture, and edit content from mobile devices to be published on adidas social channels 

Ensure real-time publishing plans of relevant moments are shared with key stakeholders 

Ensure all campaigns and content are fully tagged and tracked to support measurement and advanced analytics efforts 

Help educate the team to raise the level of knowledge and understanding of social media and its potential  

Identify platform trends and consumer behavior and feed the insight back into digital publishing output and the wider team 

Achieve on target, on time, in full and in budget results

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

Creative, collaborative and confident  

Excellent interpersonal / communication skills and high level of strategic thinking 

Superior understanding of owned channel and paid social landscape 

Experience managing brand presence across all major social media networks: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, BeReal etc. 

Experience planning, shooting and creating content at major sport and fashion events 

Broad understanding of and passion for the sports and fashion / entertainment industry 

Advanced presentation and organizational skills 

Ability to manage multiple high priority social content projects at once 

Social editing & copywriting skills 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  

Degree in Marketing, Communications, Retail, Digital or a related field (or equivalent experience) 

2+ years’ industry and / or relevant work experience 

Fluent written and spoken English language skills
