Assistant Manager, Technology Partnerships

 

Position Summary:

Drives and supports technology partnerships within Royal Caribbean Group’s Maritime Technology unit.

Coordinates technology partnerships with key suppliers. The position focuses on areas such as supplier relationship management, maritime technologies, shipbuilding, decarbonization, emission reduction technologies, energy efficiency, digitalization, and related R&D work. Provides input to newbuild projects, technology development, and commercial aspects. Duties include maintaining and managing partnership cadence and documentation.

This role oversees all aspects of partnership planning, tracking, and status reporting for various stakeholders and departments. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, understanding of large capital projects, and advanced analytical skills. Previous experience in consultancy, including market analysis, strategy formulation, and corporate development, is beneficial.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Leads partnership workstreams and specially formed teams to advance specific technology initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Engages in in-person collaboration and teamwork on-site. Represents technology initiatives to the broader Group. Prepares comprehensive reports, meeting notes, presentations, and briefing materials. Acts as a partnership team member for strategic alliances with technology providers, research institutions, and other external partners. Collaborates with other departments within the organization in Europe and Miami to drive the implementation of the Group’s key supplier strategy. Ensures that all innovations and lessons learned from the existing fleet are implemented in future newbuild projects. Actively maintains R&D-related collaboration with universities, research institutes, and forums. Organizes and reports partnership processes in emerging technologies such as energy efficiency, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and all related technical systems. Monitors the supplier landscape.

Qualifications & experience required:

 

Adequate education (M.Sc. preferred). Additional education, such as an MBA, is a benefit. 5-7 years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of the maritime industry and related technologies. Proficient in English; other languages are a plus. Excellent communication skills; ability to maintain strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and remote teams. Ability to lead multiple projects independently. Advanced MS Office 365 skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Willingness to travel.
