Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager will lead and support Jockey’s newest experiential store, Coopers 12 South.  This role will engage in retail activations, clienteling and event management to integrate the authenticity of Jockey’s brand into Nashville’s culture.  Additionally, the candidate will act as an ambassador for Coopers 12 South in the local community.

In addition, the Assistant Manager will perform duties of a retail leader by providing leadership and direction to the store team in the following areas: driving brand awareness, growing key business metrics, executing visual merchandising, networking and management of daily operations.

Create and maintain best in class visual aesthetics that activate all 5 senses in all functional elements. Implement marketing, sales, service, and financial strategy direction provided by corporate partners. Engage with senior leadership by bringing your expertise and ideas forward to ensure we maximize store opportunities. Provide positive leadership, mentoring, and coaching to all employees to create and retain a high performing team. Educate and develop sales team on new products and sales strategies. Responsible for all aspects of store operations including staffing, selling skills, merchandising, stock management, safety and security, operational policies and implementing new procedures. Regularly review key performance metrics with staff to drive profitability and service in the store. Ensure all Company prescribed standards are met and adhered to by all employees.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

REQUIRED:

High School degree or equivalent. Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting high-traffic retail environments Experience in planning, organizing, and executing events that attract local traffic and diverse audiences Expertise in promoting brand identity through in-store initiatives, local partnerships, and targeted marketing campaigns. Strong selling experience required with the proven ability to meet and exceed performance standards. Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Flexibility to work opening/closing shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

PREFERRED:

College coursework or relevant degree in Business or related field preferred. Relevant certifications in hospitality, event management, retail operations. Strong working knowledge of POS systems. MS Office skills also preferred.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Ability to move a minimum of 25 pounds. Ability to effectively maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom; repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, ascending/descending, reaching, and lifting to stock and merchandise store. Ability to work with/around cleaning chemicals.
