Assistant Manager Compliance

The Opportunity

This position is accountable for the overall management of Regulatory Compliance for Manulife Insurance Berhad. These include performing assessments on regulatory requirements and performing Quality Assurance compliance risk related areas.

Position Responsibilities:

Assist in the execution and monitoring of the company’s regulatory compliance program, including policies, procedures, and compliance tools.

Conduct regular assessments of regulatory compliance risks and support the development of mitigation strategies.

Prepare compliance reports and updates for internal stakeholders, including Management and the Compliance Department.

Support the development and delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organization.

Support regional regulatory reporting, including FATCA/CRS compliance and ESG-related updates.

Coordinate quarterly compliance updates and contribute to regulatory summary reports.

Maintain and track corrective action plans (CAPs) and regulatory issues in internal systems.

Participate in project and system development discussions to provide input from a regulatory compliance perspective.

Assist in the implementation of monitoring and quality assurance activities to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.

Coordinate with internal departments during audits, reviews, and regulatory examinations.

Maintain effective communication and working relationships with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.

Support the execution of the Compliance Department’s business continuity plan.

Other regional related support.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.

3–5 (Senior Executive) /5-7 (Managerial)  years of experience in insurance compliance or a related regulatory role.

Good understanding of insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interpret and explain regulatory requirements clearly.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills..

Preferred Qualifications:

Proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
