Assistant Manager - Human Resources

Located adjacent to Darling Harbour in Sydney’s Central Business District, Hyatt Regency Sydney is a haven of relaxation for the business or leisure traveller. As Sydney’s largest premium hotel, the hotel boasts 878 guestrooms, multiple dining experiences and event spaces. The hotel offers more than 3,700 sq m of sleek meeting and event space in the heart of the city featuring two spacious ballrooms with views of Darling Harbour and 22 additional meeting rooms.

The Role:

As the Assistant Human Resources Manager, you will join a team who prides themselves on excellence, service, integrity and accountability. In this generalist role, you will support over 400 colleagues and play an active role in the operations of the HR department, as well as assisting with the implementation of the HR Plan at the property. Our property has a fantastic team culture of care and we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our guests at all interactions. This role will ensure we continue to support this culture of care not only for our colleagues and guests, but our community and environment.

Your Responsibilities will include:

Coordinating the recruitment process for all colleaguesDeveloping strong relationships with the Hotel’s leaders, creating and maintaining an internal talent pipelineAssisting the Human Resources Manager with the coordination of training initiatives and eventsHandling colleague enquiries Acting as a point of contact for our Payroll team and proactively responding to Payroll queriesAssisting with driving colleague health and wellbeing initiatives

This Role is Suited to a Candidate who:

Holds 1-2 years of experience in a HR leadership roleIs an outgoing, people person who supports an inclusive workplaceHas strong knowledge of recruitment practices, performance managementIs proficient with Microsoft applicationsIs a NSW Return to Work Coordinator in line with state requirementsDemonstrates knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Hospitality Industry General Award (2020) Has the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Holds full, valid Australian working rights
