Assistant Manager-Item Processing
Job Purpose & Scope Responsible for supervising, and managing the performance of the Item Processing staff, and ensuring day-to-day operations are handled according to established policy and procedure. Essential Job Functions 1. Responsible for technical aspects of proof/capture software including changes to the imaging system as needed, managing project upgrades, and installation of new releases. 2. Performs quality assurance monitoring of Item Processing activities. 3. Tracks Item Processing statistics and prepares and maintains executive management reporting. 4. Troubleshoots technical issues with software and the applicable interfaces. 5. Assists with complex and/or highly sensitive employee matters. 6. Assists in management of returned mail via USPS. 7. Responsible for management of mail distribution. 8. Assists with processing all paper-based transactions, which includes processing courier and bank mail. 9. Assists in management of the capture, editing, balancing and transmission of all paper-based transactions generated. 10. Responsible for managing the receipt and verification of all incoming and outgoing cash letter files; including paper based and imaged based cash letters. 11. Develops and maintains documentation to assist Deposit Operations in balancing correspondent accounts and General Ledger accounts associated with Item Processing transactions. 12. Assists in hiring of personnel for vacant positions within the Item Processing department. 13. Assists in the development of staff by training and providing guidance when necessary. 14. Assists with special projects as assigned, including review and implementation of new technology. 15. Assists with reviews conducted by Internal Audit, Compliance, and Risk. 16. Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgement. 17. Ability to maintain confidentiality. 18. Ability to work extended hours during the week and on weekends, as necessary. Basic Qualifications 1. High school diploma or equivalent required. 2. Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in Item Processing or equivalent required. 3. Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory work experience preferred. 4. Minimum of one (1) year work experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
