Assistant Manager/ Manager – Materials

Job Summary: 

The Assistant Manager/ Manager – Materials (Materials Plan & Buy ) is responsible for overall execution of Chennai Parts Distribution Centers Planning, Purchasing & inventory management. In addition, drive cost savings, ITO and service levels. Support the POR Plan and Sales process. Guarantees the procurement of the dispatch needs in time, best price and quality. Responsible for continuous improvement actions to improve productivity and efficiency

This critical role will require the successful candidate to have strong leadership/supervisory skills coupled with the technical knowledge and understand Emerson FCV products. Synchronizes supply chain execution and inventory performance.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Define and meet the objectives in conformity with internal and Emerson requirements Own the purchasing & planning team and work with 3rd party partners for Inventory & Warehouse Management Support Engineering (Item Activation) for both Parts Analyze vendor quotations and select the best cost vendor to the requirements of our customers Review and handle forecast, customer demand, material control and production planning with zero operation disruption. Collaborate with global supply chain team to drive various cost reduction programs to optimize the supply chain and increase organizational profitability. Develop and maintain professional relationships with all suppliers Evaluate vendor performance and take steps to improve supplier OTD to the business requirements Provide support and guidance to team members. Work closely with other CPDC functions on dispatch plan to ensure level loading of dispatches and with KOB3 Sales team to plan & forecast load 18 months ahead, as applicable. Responsible for Inventory management to ensure quick resolution of inbound issues and to maintain cycle count accuracy. Evaluate Inventory replenishment and forecasting techniques to increase the CFF, COF & ITO Prepare monthly reports and provide support to the Parts Manager for planning and execution Analyze on critical metric that’s not meeting the target, identify root cause and action plans to improve the performance Coordinate internal team projects related to Oracle and processes Handle Flow bottlenecks elimination through appropriate capacity load charts Maintain 0 TRR, implement safety and 5S+1 actions. Any other tasks and initiatives as demanded by business

For This Role, You Will Need:

Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Instrumentation) Proficient English 14+ years of professional Shown experience in Control valves segment. Experience in MPS (Master Production Scheduling), MRP (Material Requirement Planning), Capacity Analysis, Supplier & People Management. Having the ability to drive all people for the same goal. Flexible toward company and customer needs. Positive, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to travel within region (occasionally)

Deep knowledge of Fisher products and solutions Fair knowledge of Power/M&M, severe service applications & corresponding Fisher solutions. Interpersonal skills and to relate well with all levels of staff Good Presentation skills & persuasive ability. Problem Solving Skills & product differentiation capability. Good collaborative approach and team building ability to achieve common goal.
