Overview Provides direct supervision and management of Outpatient Registration and the associated processes and activities which include securing appropriate demographic and third party information on new and return outpatients, while creating a 'first impression' of the hospital and clinics through in-person interviews and advance telephone registrations, establishing a medical record identification number, reviewing and/or updating patient, guarantor and insurance information, providing Managed Care, commercial and other third party benefit verification, precertification and authorization activities on behalf of both the hospital and COM physicians for designated patients, eliciting detailed financial data, securing necessary signatures from patients and guarantors, and addressing patient, physician and customer concerns. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: H.S. graduate or equivalent required, Associates or Bachelor�s Degree preferred. Minimum of 4 years direct work experience with public contact, preferably in the health care industry 2 years supervisory experience preferred, a combination of work experience and a college degree in related field, such as business, finance or healthcare may substitute for supervisory experience Strong oral and written interpersonal communication skills. Experience with the systematic gathering of reliable data, understanding organizational reporting, and consistent follow-through to ensure appropriate action is taken in response to data. Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing work flow in order to meet demands. Knowledge of federal, state, and insurance payer rules desirable. Effective with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Ability to work and communicate professionally within a diverse and inclusive work environment.
