Job Description
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Assistant Sales Manager to join our dynamic team, focusing on driving the sales and distribution of dairy products such as cheese, ice cream, and soft serve. This role will be instrumental in ensuring effective distribution across multiple sales channels, including retail, HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, and Cafes), and foodservice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for dairy products, a strong understanding of the food industry, and the ability to cultivate lasting customer relationships
Main Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Channel Development:Support the development and implementation of targeted sales strategies tailored for diverse distribution channels, including retail, HORECA, and foodservice.Identify and pursue new business opportunities across these channels to expand market share and achieve sales targets for dairy products.Work with senior sales leadership to plan and forecast sales goals for each channel, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.Customer Relationship Management:Establish and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key customers in retail, foodservice, and HORECA sectors, including distributors, wholesalers, restaurant chains, and individual outlets.Provide proactive support and consultative sales solutions, addressing customer needs and ensuring customer satisfaction across all channels.Respond to client inquiries, product concerns, and feedback to improve service delivery.Product Promotion & Merchandising:Collaborate with related stakeholders to create tailored promotional strategies for each distribution channel, ensuring effective product visibility and brand awareness.Oversee product displays, in-store promotions, and merchandising activities across retail stores, as well as managing sampling and product demonstrations in the HORECA and foodservice sectors.Train and support key stakeholders, such as retail staff and foodservice operators, on product knowledge, benefits, and selling techniques.Sales Reporting & Market Analysis:Monitor and report on sales performance by channel (retail, HORECA, and foodservice), identifying trends, growth opportunities, and areas for improvement.Prepare and present regular sales reports and analysis to senior management, with clear action plans to enhance sales performance.Utilize CRM tools and data analytics to track customer activity and product performance, adjusting strategies as necessary.Inventory Management & Order Fulfillment:Work closely with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely product distribution across all channels.Ensure seamless product availability for retail, HORECA, and foodservice clients, minimizing stockouts and delays.Collaborate with customers to manage orders, deliveries, and inventory needs, optimizing stock levels for all customer types.Market Research & Competitive Landscape:Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends in the dairy product sector, including consumer preferences, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the retail, HORECA, and foodservice markets.Use insights to develop tailored strategies that address customer demands and product gaps.Team Support & Training:Assist in training junior sales staff and colleagues on the intricacies of selling dairy products in diverse channels.Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments to ensure a coordinated effort in meeting sales and distribution goals.Qualifications
Qualification:
Proven track record in sales and channel development within retail, HORECA, and foodservice sectors.Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to drive informed decision-making.Familiarity with CRM tools and sales management systems (Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, ORACLE, etc.).Knowledge of dairy products (cheese, ice cream, soft serve) is highly preferred.Initiatives in response to customer demand and keep pace with market trendsGood command of English in both speaking and writingHave a clearing understanding of export process, rules & regulation, commercial terms, and so forthExcellent negotiation skills are a pre-requisite in determining the prices and discounts for different products.Problem solving skill, Able to work under pressureExcellent interpersonal skills and high creativityHighly proactive, customer-focused, and goal-oriented.Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and channels.Willingness to travel to meet customers, conduct site visits, and attend industry events.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years of sales experience, ideally within the dairy, foodservice, or HORECA industries.
