THE JOB:

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is hiring an Assistant Executive Steward to oversee operational functions within the department. This role involves training and supervising utility stewards and dishwashers to ensure the efficient cleaning and transport of kitchen utensils.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Supervise assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan, fiscal budget, and the company’s short term and long-term profitability objectivesSupervise assigned staff to include: hire recommendations that encompass the company’s diversity commitment, training, coaching, performance feedback, recommend and administer discipline, and schedulingProvide ideas and suggestions for new products, services, technology and processesMake routine inspections of all equipment and kitchen areas to ensure that cleanliness and sanitary procedures are maintainedRequisition new and replacement equipment as neededApprove requisitions related to all cleaning supplies and equipment and monitor supply requisitions to ensure costs are kept to a minimum without losing quality and usage of materialsMaintain inventory and record keeping for all dinnerware, flatware and glassware, order china, glass and silver

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

Two years of experience in Stewarding, dishwashing, back-of-house kitchen or related fieldAbility to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

Knowledge of all kitchen steward functions and all materials and equipment used in the kitchenSupervisory or leadership experience in stewardingExperience working in a similar resort settingExperience managing employees using a Collective Bargaining AgreementBilingual in SpanishServSafe certification
