Assistant Marketing Manager

This position reports to the Head of Market Engagement and is responsible for supporting initiatives across the John Hancock Insurance business. Your primary focus will involve contributing to executing marketing strategies, implementing marketing tactics to elevate market awareness, and driving sales for our business unit. In this role, your focus will be cultivating relationships with internal and external partners to drive ROI and sales. You will also be responsible for utilizing innovative technologies, such as Gen AI, to enhance customer engagement and improve business outcomes.

The Insurance Marketing Team, of which the Market Engagement Assistant is a key part, is an integral part of our comprehensive marketing organization, which includes brand, human-centered design, digital, analytics, and integrated production. Together, these teams collaborate closely to craft our marketing narrative, deliver connected customer experiences, and demonstrate the business value of marketing.  
 

Key responsibilities:

Contributes to the execution of campaigns, including digital, media, and social channels to promote life insurance productsAssists in the writing, development, execution, and measurement of marketing campaigns to support John Hancock Insurance, services and partnersLeverages various types of media to drive marketing campaigns, including targeted email marketing, A/B testing, social media, digital advertising, and website experiencesUtilizes Gen AI to create personalized content and develop data-driven strategies for specific customer segmentsEvaluates campaign success using analytics relative to competitor activities and current market conditionsHelps manage the relationships with creative, editorial, digital and compliance teams within the area Engages with colleagues across Distribution, Product Management, New Business and Inforce to gather feedback on marketing tools and programsContributes to the creation and refinement of marketing plan deliverables, ensuring all materials are up-to-date on digital platformsHelps manage the day-to-day marketing projects and operational processes such as compliance review, material creation and job tracking within our internal management system (Work Zone)

Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a background in marketing with preferred experience in the life insurance space and will be passionate about bringing excitement to these experiences. 

What we are looking for: 

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field of study with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.Familiarity with the life insurance and financial services insurance industry a plusProficiency in email marketing (Marketo), and social media platforms (Live Social) a plusOutstanding project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet demanding and overlapping deadlinesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong writing and copy-editing abilitiesKnowledge using Generative AI tools to drive business growth and innovation, is a plusProficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Salary range is expected to be between

$71,550.00 USD - $119,250.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
