As the Assistant Materials Manager you will oversee Buying and Planning operations while driving continuous improvement and ensuring cross-functional coordination to delight our customers, all while earning a competitive base salary and full benefit offerings make for a well-rounded total package for the right individual. This position reports to the Materials Manager.

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following: 

Oversee facility Buying, Planning, and Scheduling Functions in our effort to support our customers as a world-class facility.Ensure seamless communication and feedback with our sales team and other functional groups.Teach and train functional team in competencies and technical/functional skillsRoot cause problem solving to drive process improvementManage daily operations to ensure the efficient operations of the Buying, Planning, and Scheduling Functions including development of SOP’sEnsure accurate and timely development of schedules for all shop floor processes.Develop and update metrics to communicate health and challenges of Buying, Planning, and Scheduling group.Provide recommendations to other functional groups to help facility drive towards excellence.

Required Experience:

Demonstrated success in leading teams to meet challenging goals.Experience using an ERP system to efficiently plan and procure material.Ability to consistently provide positive and negative feedback to external process partners and peers in written and verbal form.Comfort in expediting material and implementing solutions to short-term and long-term supply issues.Ability to identify employees’ strengths and limitations and give both spectrums of feedback (positive and constructive)Have influence with peers to understand & achieve alignment and common goal(s)Efficient in 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream-MappingExperience with risk awareness and mitigationFinancial acumenDemonstrated past of developing and managing KPIs and metricsAbility to drive continuous improvement and eliminate wasteExperience with material and information flowExperience with PFEP, choosing correct Replenishment planDemonstrated proficiency in 6 Sigma continuous improvement methodology.

Required Experience:

5+ years’ supervisory experienceBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or other related disciplineSuccessfully managed purchasing and planning of 10000+ SKUsGlobal acumen (how business is done globally)Documented turn-around of employee situations (marginal to meeting expectations)Experience with enterprise-sourcing purchasing systems
