Assistant Medical Director - Primary Care
POSITION STANDARDS Graduate of an accredited medical school and residency program. Valid license to practice medicine in the state of New Hampshire Successful completion of credentialing process for medical staff membership and privileges at APDHS Maintenance of active narcotics and controlled substances numbers and licenses Board certification in the physician's area of specialty Advanced education in the areas of clinical quality, process improvement or analytics preferred POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Anything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements. Position Objective Responsible for assisting the Medical Director in clinical leadership of providers and clinical staff to insure high quality patient care, fiscal viability, and employee and patient satisfaction Assist as a liaison between the provider group at the RAMCCC and hospital administration and other specialties Collaborates with medical staff committees and individuals to optimize communication, efficiency and effectiveness of clinic services Participate in Quality Improvement efforts to ensure that interactions with patients are effective and produce the best possible outcome Collaborates with the Practice Director and Clinical Manager to achieve departmental goals and objectives Maintains a minimum of 0.25 FTE in these activities. Maintains at least 0.5 FTE clinical practice as delineated in physician job description. Remains in good standing as an Active member of Medical Staff at APDMH.

 

Performance Expectation Assists in training for the professional growth and development of providers and other clinical staff, with special attention to innovative approaches to provider and staff development and patient care Assists in oversight of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities. This includes any activities required for acquiring and maintaining Critical Access Hospital and Provider-Based Billing designations, PCMH certification, Meaningful Use requirements, including chart and peer review requirements. Assists in assuring adequate oversight of non-physician providers. Provides input to Practice Director and Medical Director and senior leadership regarding strategic planning for department. Provides managers with input regarding performance of staff from perspective of providers.
