Job Details The Assistant Nurse Manager provides for leadership and direction of the patient care units in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible and accountable for establishing and maintaining standards, the delivery of patient care, directing and facilitating work performance of all personnel on a defined patient care area and maximizes patient outcomes. Responsibilities include: Collaborate with the Nurse Manager in identifying, addressing, and utilizing available resources to meet the learning needs of professional and ancillary staff members. Assist the Nurse Manager with scheduling and staffing for optimal availability of resources. Coordinate unit activities for a given shift, by facilitating a stable and organized work environment through leadership, direction and delegation to provide and maintain quality nursing care. Assume responsibility for clinical operations of the unit for the designated shift, collaborating with nursing leadership for patient admission, transfer, and discharge activity. Guide, develop, and counsel staff regarding practice and performance standards. Serve as a support and resource for the education of health care providers as may occur during the designated shift. Participate with the Nurse Manager in completing performance evaluations, resolving personnel problems, counseling employees, patient experience, and regulatory agency preparedness. Participate in the implementation of action plans and identifies new opportunities for improvement. Assist in facilitating a collaborative interdisciplinary approach to achieve optimal patient care outcomes. Qualifications/Requirements: 5+ years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience (preferred) in relevant acute care clinical setting Prior leadership experience preferred Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for Emergency Department, S-Unit, and all critical care areas. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required for Emergency Department TNCC preferred Salary Range USD $115,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
