Assistant Nurse Manager for the Operating Room is responsible for supporting the Nurse Manager in overseeing the daily operations and staff of the OR This role includes ensuring high standards of patient care coordinating surgical services and managing staff performance and development The Assistant Nurse Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe efficient and effective environment for both patients and staffKey Responsibilities Operational Managementa Assist in the overall management and coordination of the OR including staffing scheduling and resource allocationb Ensure compliance with hospital policies procedures and regulatory standardsc Oversee the maintenance of equipment and supplies ensuring readiness for surgical proceduresd Participate and Patient Care a Monitor and ensure high quality patient care and safety in the ORb Address patient and family concerns providing exceptional customer servicec Collaborate with surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the patient experience Staff Supervision and Developmenta Assist in recruiting training and evaluating OR staff both Nurses and CSTsb Provide leadership guidance and mentorship to nursing staff promoting professional development and a positive work environment c Conduct performance evaluations and support continuous improvement initiatives Quality Improvementa Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activitiesb Analyze and address areas for improvement in patient care and OR processesc Implement best practices and evidence based protocols to enhance OR efficiency and patient safety Collaboration and Communicationa Foster effective communication and collaboration among surgical teams nursing staff and other departments b Attend and contribute to OR and hospital wide meetings and committeesc Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and management ensuring clear and consistent communication Supporta Rotating with the Nurse Manager be available for on call support as needed to address urgent issues and maintain seamless OR operations in a Level Trauma Center Metricsa Participate in the development and monitoring of departmental and
