The School of Leadership and Professional Studies at WKU is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for a specialist in mixed research methods to teach, engage in research, and provide service to the Educational Leadership (EdD) Doctoral program, while also serving as the Associate Director of Program Evaluation for the WKU Burch Institute for Transformative Practices in Higher Education. In addition to managing a reduced teaching load, this 11-month tenure-eligible position requires that the candidate assist in the development, coordination, and execution of program evaluations across the University and serve as methodologist on dissertation committees.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Teach research methods courses in the Educational Leadership program, including:
+ Introduction to Research Methods
+ Reading & Writing About Educational Research
+ Research Design for Improvement Science
+ Qualitative & Quantitative Analysis Techniques for Improvement Scientists
+ Program Evaluation
+ Serve as methodologist on dissertation committees.
+ Provide additional support and services to the EdD program as requested.
Program Evaluation Responsibilities:
+ Work with university leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners to develop and implement program evaluation plans aligned with the University's strategic goals.
+ Use a variety of research methods to collect and analyze data, including surveys, focus groups, interviews, and observations.
+ Implement quasi-experimental designs to assess the impact of programs on relevant outcomes.
+ Synthesize evaluation findings and provide reports to stakeholders, contributing to data-driven decision-making and continuous program improvement.
+ Assist in writing grant proposals and manuscripts for publication.
Job Requirements:
+ Earned doctorate in Education, Educational Research Methods, Organizational Change, Leadership Studies, Public Policy, Public Administration, Sociology, or a related field.
+ A minimum of 18 graduate-level credit hours in research methods.
+ Expertise in qualitative research methods (e.g., phenomenology, ethnography, narrative, case study, grounded theory).
+ Knowledge of quantitative research methods, including survey research and design.
Experience and Skills:
+ A minimum of three years of experience in program evaluation.
+ Experience teaching research methods courses at the university level.
+ Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including university leadership, faculty, and external partners.
+ Proficiency in statistical analysis software and a solid understanding of mixed methods.
+ Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and present findings to various audiences.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects independently, balancing academic and administrative responsibilities.
