Position TypeFaculty Work Hours/Week40 Description of Work Unit The Department of Finance and Real Estate is one of five departments in the College of Business. The Department has a strong record of research accomplishments and provides excellent research support, with subscriptions to most common databases. The Department offers a Master of Finance, and undergraduate concentrations in finance, financial planning, and real estate, and participates in the other programs of the College. The Department currently has 13 tenure-track and 6 non-tenure track faculty. The Department serves the more than 700 undergraduate students in finance, financial planning, and real estate. Rank is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The department has needs for faculty with research and teaching interests that overlap with business sustainability and investments. The start date will be August 2025. Conditions of EmploymentPre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Required Job Qualifications Candidates must have (or expect to receive by the start of employment) a doctoral degree in Finance or a closely related field and demonstrated potential to publish in top finance journals. Candidates who are currently employed as an Assistant or Associate Professor must have an established record of publication in the top finance journals commensurate with rank and experience. Preferred Job Qualifications For those applying as Assistant Professor, a strong preference will be given to candidates with: (1) potential to publish articles in premier and high-quality finance journals; (2) evidence of an active research stream that aligns with investments and business sustainability; (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness; and (4) ability to teach finance/sustainability courses. For those applying as Associate Professor, a strong preference will be given to candidates with: (1) a record of publications in high-quality and premier finance journals commensurate with academic experience; (2) evidence of an active research stream that aligns with investments and business sustainability; (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) experience teaching finance/sustainability courses; and (5) a record of impactful contributions to the discipline and/or their university through leadership roles.
