Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Fintech and Investments at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Accounting and Finance, starting September 1, 2025. Candidates holding tenure at their current institutions are invited to apply.

Ideal candidates for this position will have an active program of research with a demonstrated ability for high-quality scholarly publications. Preference for this position will be given to candidates who conduct research in the area of fintech, financial analytics, and investments. Applicants should possess knowledge of the current best practices in finance and in research methods.

The candidate selected will be expected to teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels in both face-to- face and online delivery modes. In addition, the candidate is expected to pursue scholarly research leading to publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals; engage in outreach activities with the local business community; serve on department, school, and university-level committees; advise students; and participate in innovative curricular development activities.

THE FELICIANO SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND THE ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT:
The mission of the Feliciano School of Business is to transform today’s students into tomorrow’s business leaders.  The School, which is accredited by AACSB International, offers distinctive programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level including a BS in Business Administration (ten concentrations), BS in Accounting, BA in Economics, MBA, MS in Accounting, MS Business Analytics, MS Digital Marketing Analytics, MS Human Resource Analytics, and various graduate level certificates and minors and certificates for non-business students.  Among the School’s strengths are a world-class faculty and staff, a diverse and driven student body, an engaged network of alumni and strong corporate and institutional partnerships.  Both academics and program-related activities are focused on student success and providing experiential opportunities beyond the classroom. The Ellyn A. McColgan Center for Student Services offers results-driven advising and career guidance to students, as well as access to internships, coops and mentorship support.  The School also houses the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship, which fosters innovation and nurtures an extensive community of followers through interdisciplinary programs and events.  The Feliciano School of Business is highlighted in The Princeton Review’s Guide to the Best 295 Business Schools and ranked among the top part-time and online MBA programs by U.S. News and World Report and Fortune Magazine.

Nearly 105 full-time faculty and 35 staff members bring an impressive range of expertise to the School, with terminal degrees and advanced training from leading universities. The Department of Accounting and Finance offers a BS in Accounting and a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Real Estate Finance, a minor in Finance, and four graduate certificate programs in Real Estate Development, Accounting, Forensic Accounting, and Professional Accounting. The department also supports the MBA Program and the MS in Accounting program, teaching both required (core and concentration-specific) and elective graduate courses.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must hold a Doctorate in finance or fintech or a related field (or be expected to complete their doctorate by August 1, 2025), exhibit potential to publish in high-quality journals, and have teaching expertise in fintech, finance analytics, and investment related courses. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or a strong research pipeline, delivered presentations at national and/or international conferences, have an outstanding record of either practice and/or academic accomplishments in fintech, finance analytics, and investments and have experience and expertise in developing, evaluating, and revising business curriculum. Demonstrated excellence in teaching fintech and financial analytics related courses, evidenced by peer and student evaluations, and corporate or consulting experience in U.S. organizations is also preferred.
