Job Description
POSITION: The Texas A&M University-Kingsville School of Music seeks a creative, collaborative, and dedicated pedagogue and scholar to serve as a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Education.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Teach undergraduate courses in Music Education.
+ Teach graduate courses in our summer music education program.
+ Supervise and coordinate student teachers.
+ Maintain a record of scholarly activity and make professional contributions to the field of music education.
+ Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and service activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Doctorate in Music Education
+ A minimum of three years of successful secondary-level music teaching experience
+ Evidence of excellence or potential for excellence in teaching music education courses at the collegiate level
+ Scholarly activity and demonstrated potential for further professional growth

GENERAL INFORMATION: Texas A&M University-Kingsville is a multi-cultural, predominantly Hispanic-serving, state-assisted institution with an enrollment of about 6,000 students. The School of Music (SOM), an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music, currently enrolls about 290 undergraduate and 25 graduate music majors, with 24 full-time and 18 part-time faculty members. The SOM is housed in a brand new, 100,000 sq ft music facility featuring superior acoustics and technology. The SOM offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Music in Performance, Bachelor of Music with Teacher Certification, Bachelor of Music in Performance with an Emphasis in Jazz Studies, Bachelor of Music in Performance with an Emphasis in Piano Pedagogy, Bachelor of Music in Sound Recording Technology, Master of Music in Music Education, Master of Music in Performance, and Master of Music in Conducting.
